Welcome to Veni Vici Entertainment

We borrowed the corporate name “Veni Vici Entertainment,” from Julius Caesar’s Latin phrase, "Veni, vidi, vici"("I came; I saw; I conquered")

Caesar wrote this to the Roman Senate around 46 BC after achieving victory in his short war against Pharnaces II of Pontus at the Battle of Zela.

Since contemporary life is faster paced than it was in Caesar’s day, and since “vidi” (“I saw”) is superfluous and implicit (you can’t conquer that which you don’t see) we’ve dispensed with the word to incorporate Veni Vici Entertainment Inc., covering films, TV, music, the web, and books.

Like life itself, entertainment, relates to war, victories and defeats. From the moment we are born our bodies are attacked by germs while antibodies in our immune defense system fight them off to keep us alive.

Similarly, commercial enterprises and creativity parallels war; hurdles to be hurdled, a constant struggle with ideas that can be stubborn in development, bad guys who would steal our ideas, and a battle for the affection of our audience which must be won over, conquered, regardless of how good, bad or indifferent their taste may be.

In our war, instead of swords, we use imagination, guile, wit, humor, technology, common sense and, when needed, lawyers and the courts. In the entertainment war we serve several masters: our audience, our backers, our ego, and our conscience.

Our philosophy in films is simple. Our goal is the best possible ROI (return on investment). The ultimate critic is the box office. When we have world-saving messages, we’ll put them in books. Films are for entertainment and profits.
